Hmm... My very first post - very first blog - EVER! Wow... How could I possibly make my life so interesting that anyone would want to read or follow it? :) Here goes...
My last day of work was last Friday, June 1st. I'm officially an unemployed stay at home mommy to my sweet 20 month old daughter Paisley. My sweet sister Lagena came over Friday to stay the night and watch Paisley. Brian and I plus two of our dearest friends did the Warrior Dash on Saturday in Morris, Oklahoma. We saw videos and sort of knew what to expect - 3.11 miles of running on trails and numerous obstacle courses where we had to walk on balance beams over water, army crawl in the dirt under boards, climb over many very tall obstacles - one with water spraying directly in your face, using a rope to crawl over a wall, jumping over several fire pits and crawling under barbed wire - once through waist high water and mud. The guys would run ahead but stop at the obstacle course so we could all do them together. We finished the race together - all four of us holding hands. We weren't super competitive this time, we all just wanted to finish. So finishing in the middle of almost 6000 wasn't too bad for our first time I don't think! What an amazing experience! Afterward, three of us ate a big turkey leg. YUMM-O! We have all decided that we would like to do this again soon. Two days later, I'm really sore so I better take some time off before doing so. :)
